Lunge Line Training, Bareback Basics, and Saddle Training

Bareback riding begins on the lunge line. We work on the correct position of the riders body, relaxation of the rider, how to perform an emergency stop and disengage the hind quarters, and allow the student to become familiar with what it feels like to be on a horse. At the appropriate time, they take the rein on their own, first in the round pen and then beyond.

Every step of the Little Pines Stables course teaches students a variety of ways to work with horses, preparing the student for a successful future as an equestrian.

Once the student demonstrates bareback competency, training under saddle begins.

Students always wear helmets and safety vests and learn how to fall from a horse safely. Little Pines Stables prides itself in keeping students in a safe environment throughout the course.
