Equestrian Fundamentals + Physical Fitness

Following acceptance into the Little Pine Stables program, students are given a training manual including take home worksheets introducing them to equipment terminology and usage, including:

  • Tack
  • Grooming Tools
  • Horse anatomy

Students cannot continue in the program until they pass a test on the required material.

Riding requires physical conditioning to keep students safe and ensure they can perform the techniques they learn during the program.

Before getting on horseback, students must complete 30 crunches to the standards of Little Pine Stables, either alongside the instructor or via virtual video.

Physical fitness is an essential cornerstone for being a balanced rider, and the core of the body is one of the most critical aspects of this fitness.
